Hating the Federal Government, Except…

One of the members of the new (but not improved) Benghazi Select Committee is Mike Pompeo of Kansas.  Guess what company is based in his district?  Koch Industries!  And guess what congressman the Koch Brothers have donated more money to than any other?  Mike Pompeo!

Pompeo was first elected in the Tea Party wave of 2010, and, as you’d expect, he spouts lots and lots of anti fedrul guvmint rhetoric.

But Pompeo loves, loves, loves the feds when it comes to GMO’s.  He’s pushing a bill to prohibit states from requiring labeling on or otherwise regulating genetically modified foods.

Pompeo and his Tea Party friends champion states’ rights — except when the states might do something they don’t like.

You Won’t Believe This One

David Gittrich is trying to get the Wichita City Council to prevent an abortion clinic from re-opening because he claims that the protests it will draw will be a nuisance.

Mr. Gittrich is Director of Development at Kansans for Life, so he will be organizing and attending those protests, thus creating the very nuisance he is complaining about.

The abortion clinic in question is the one that was run by Dr. George Tiller until a pro-lifer murdered him while he was attending church.  Murderers for Life!

The Taliban Are Here

As part of the GOP’s war on women, Republican-controlled states (Oklahoma, Kansas, Arizona) have, or are moving towards, outrageous laws destroying the doctor-patient relationship.  These laws say that if a doctor withholds information about known birth defects in order to prevent you from having an abortion, you can’t sue him for malpractice!  So you can’t trust your own doctor to tell you what he knows about your pregnancy.  It’s none of your business!

Even though early tests are now available, if there’s devastating news, you won’t discover it in time to exercise your constitutional right to terminate, you’ll find out in the delivery room.  Surprise!  Who needs science, when we have religion?

We’re so busy fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan that we don’t seem to realize we have our own Taliban problem here at home.

Santorum Wins Big in Kansas

Santorum won big in Kansas today, with 51.2%.

Mitt got only 20.9%.

When you add Gingrich’s 14.4% to Santorum’s vote, that’s a whopping 65.6% for the two conservatives fighting to be the “not Mitt.”

Newt’s stubbornness and egomania aren’t helping him all that much, but they’re sure helping Mitt.

Wyoming isn’t done yet, but Mitt is leading and will win there, as expected.
