“Can Weiner Rise Again?”
The Drudge headline links to Maggie Haberman’s story on Politico, “Anthony Weiner gives tearful confessional, eyes comeback.”
Weiner is thinking of running for mayor of New York.
Matt Drudge has one of his big red headlines up — “White House Threatens ‘Executive Orders’ on Guns”
You might expect a photo of President Obama accompanying that headline. But noooooooo. Drudge has photos of Hitler and Stalin.
The big headline this morning on Drudge is “Rampage,” and I thought it was about the protests across Egypt over President Morsi’s assumption of even more power.
But nooooooo, the story is about us Americans behaving badly at the Black Friday sales.
So you’ve got some folks fighting for freedom while we’re fighting for flat-screen TV’s.
Matt Drudge is reporting that exit polls show Mitt winning North Carolina and Florida; O winning New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Nevada; and toss-ups in Ohio, Virginia, Colorado, and Iowa.
Remember to keep your eyes on Hillsborough County, Florida and Hamilton and Montgomery Counties in Ohio.
“With five months until Election Day, Barack Obama faces a grim new reality: Republicans now believe Mitt Romney can win, and Democrats believe Obama can lose … Veteran Democratic strategists from previous presidential bids and on Capitol Hill now wonder if the Obama re-election crew is working with the right message … The White House remains on a rough political trajectory, with a potentially adverse Supreme Court decision on the Obama health care law looming, additional bad economic news from Europe coming and more worrisome polling pending … Another danger for the President: the media freak show. Stalking that circus’ center ring is Matt Drudge, whose caustic website continues to help drive the news cycle with an emphasis on negative, mocking items about Obama and Vice President Joe Biden and their wives.”

The Crazies are having a field day. The late Andrew Breitbart’s website discovered a promotional brochure from President Obama’s literary agency published in 1991 that says he was born in Kenya. Apparently, this biographical detail remained unchanged until 2007. As Rick Perry would say — Oops! Of course, it became a huge Drudge headline.
The Breitbart people said they were publishing it not because they believe it’s true (they’ll leave that to the Birthers), but because it shows that Obama has changed the way he wants to present himself at different points in his life. Of course, if you’re running for president, you’d damn well better present yourself as born in the United States.
One of the literary agents involved is describing it as a “fact-checking error,” but to the Birthers, it’s the Holy Grail.
Jennifer Rubin, who uses her WaPo “Right Turn” blog to shill for Mitt, has a video up today from August 2006, where Rick Savonarola Santorum answers an interview question about birth control by saying, “I think it’s harmful to women, it’s harmful to our society.” This is the kind of stuff that cost Santorum his re-election bid to the Senate from Pennsylvania.
Matt Drudge, who also shills for Mitt, has a link to Rubin’s post up on his site today. So a one-two punch from Team Mitt.
