Walking It Back

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo softened a bit on the quarantine for health care workers returning from West Africa.  He now says they can do their 21-day quarantine at home and that they will be compensated for lost wages.

Soon after Cuomo, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said that New Jersey residents can also be quarantined at home (he didn’t address lost income), and that efforts would be made to get non-Jersey residents back to their own states for their quarantine.  But once a person leaves New Jersey, I don’t know what jurisdiction Christie would have to impose a quarantine on them if their home state doesn’t have such a requirement.

There’s still a gap between Cuomo/Christie and the Obama Administration, but it’s been narrowed somewhat.

Getting a Little Deep

So Kerry Kennedy, one of Bobby’s kids, got in trouble for driving while under the influence of Ambien.  Most people resolve these things quietly with the authorities, but, no, Kennedy had to take it to trial.

In his closing argument, Kennedy’s lawyer amazingly asked these rhetorical questions of the jury:  “Is this an honest person?  Or is this someone who has led a life of lying and cheating?”

Kerry Kennedy used to be Kerry Kennedy Cuomo, the wife of current NY Gov Andrew Cuomo and the mother of his three children.  But she lost the “Cuomo” a decade ago when she had an affair with also-married Bruce Colley, polo-playing heir to a McDonald’s franchise fortune.

So her lawyer really shouldn’t bring up lying and cheating.

Make Way for Hillary

NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo says he won’t run for the Dem nomination in 2016 if Hillary does.

I’d like to see Cuomo run against Chris Christie.  It would be like the best ever episode of The Sopranos.

I’ve disliked Hillary since 1967, not going to stop now.  Of course, I’m not going to vote for Rand Paul either…

Hillary Can’t Say No Now

It’s a little over a week since the Inauguration, and I’m already sick of the Hillary speculation.

Even if she knows what she wants to do, she can’t make a definitive statement.  If she’s going to run, she can’t step on the President’s toes so early in his term.

If she’s not going to run, she’ll want to delay saying so as long as possible.  Bill has to keep the speculation going because he needs the attention and money for his Clinton Global Initiative that a possible Billary return to the White House generates.  If the Clinton era is truly over, Bill loses buzz.  And Bill the Big Baby desperately needs buzz like the rest of us need oxygen.

My gut feeling is that she won’t run.

So to Andrew Cuomo and Martin O’Malley, I say, “Please proceed, Governor.”
