Nancy Pelosi has appointed the following House Dems to the Benghazi committee: Elijah Cummings of Maryland, Adam Smith of Washington, Adam Schiff of California, Linda Sanchez of California, and Tammy Duckworth of Illinois.
One of the members of the new (but not improved) Benghazi Select Committee is Mike Pompeo of Kansas. Guess what company is based in his district? Koch Industries! And guess what congressman the Koch Brothers have donated more money to than any other? Mike Pompeo!
Pompeo was first elected in the Tea Party wave of 2010, and, as you’d expect, he spouts lots and lots of anti fedrul guvmint rhetoric.
But Pompeo loves, loves, loves the feds when it comes to GMO’s. He’s pushing a bill to prohibit states from requiring labeling on or otherwise regulating genetically modified foods.
Pompeo and his Tea Party friends champion states’ rights — except when the states might do something they don’t like.
Donald Trump is now coming out against childhood vaccinations, joining the parade of morons who think vaccinations cause autism. At least his birtherism didn’t really hurt anybody.
While vaccinations don’t cause autism, parents’ growing failure to get their children immunized is definitely causing outbreaks of whooping cough and measles, diseases which shouldn’t even exist in this country.
All part of the terrifying turn against science in favor of superstition and quackery.
Okay, here’s a weird one for you. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Michigan), Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, is blaming Crimea on Edward Snowden: “He’s actually supporting, in an odd way, this very activity of brazen brutality and expansion of Russia.”
Oh, please — If Snowden were still toiling away quietly for the NSA in Hawaii, Pootie-Poot would still have taken Crimea.
